Conversion into warehouse-style studios – Stephendale Yard
The conversion of Stephendale Yard from a former 1920s builder’s yard and joiners’ workshops into office accommodation is a successful example of urban regeneration and intensification of land use within the city.
The newly created, modern warehouse-style studios in fashionable Fulham have retained the character of the original collection of buildings, keeping original features such as sandblasted brick walls and cast-iron windows. The industrial heritage is further reflected through the introduction of chunky metal balustrading and cast concrete finishes. The airy units sit around an attractive communal courtyard and they are constantly in demand from independent, creative businesses.
