Quintessentially English… with a twist
This Victorian house is owned by a growing family who, because of the great location and family ties, wanted to substantially improve their property rather than move elsewhere.
We think of it as quintessentially English… with a twist. That all sounds very Paul Smith, and interestingly enough, fashion and interiors are closely related. Inner connecting rooms were made flexible by using pocketed doors, which can close off and open up ground-floor spaces. A large utility room and boot room takes the burden (and unsightliness) of laundry out of the kitchen.
We’ve carefully incorporated feature glazing into the new extension, and alongside refurbished brickwork and landscaping, this provides a design which feels as though it has always belonged to the house.
