A luxurious, open-plan apartment
After we’d designed and developed several of her boutiques, society fashion designer Amanda Wakeley asked us to reimagine her apartment.
The property is part of a high-ceilinged Chelsea mansion block, and originally comprised of a number of small, interconnecting rooms. Working with a structural engineer, we reorganised the space to create a spacious, open-plan pied à terre. All the structural work, including removing and relocating internal walls and the routing of services, had to be carried out within the apartment, without affecting other residents.
The layout now consists of: a generous living area; a practical, compact kitchen; and the main feature — a large, open-plan bedroom leading to a luxurious spa bathroom. Pure white, heated marble floors are complemented by bespoke ebony-veneered furniture. There’s a generous walk-in wardrobe, concealed by hand-stitched leather, sliding doors.
