A light-filled, open plan home
A conservatory was a very fashionable addition to a home in 1990s, but these were often too hot in summer and too cold in winter, and would not pass building regulations today. Innovative glass technology to control heat loss and gain means that high performance glazing and rooflights can be installed in a creative and open-plan way, flooding the space with natural light, so that an extension can now become an integral part of the home, rather than an add-on.
As well as adding the new extension, which linked with the kitchen to create an open plan family space, we refurbished the whole house, both inside and out, respecting its traditional Arts and Crafts style detailing, but creating a fresh, modern home.
